Louis XVI Daybed
This chaise is signed "IACOB, the stamp of Francois-Horore-Georges Jacob, of the family who were the cabinet makers of Louis XVI. This family member produced furnishings with this stamp during the period 1813-1825. The finish has been re-painted, the upholstery is 20th century, as is the plush down matress. It is sturdy, though no corner re-enforcements have been added.
