Charred Wood Mirror
This wooden frame designed and executed by Neal Beckerman is reminiscent at once of the textured sculpture of Giacometti, or the charred wood used in Japanese architecture. The color at times looks black, and as the lighting changes, can take on a more ashy appearance. The slanted profile of the 5” molding, is modern, with enough depth to create an interplay of light. The interior glass is well aged and antiqued in contrast with the modern design.
